How Christians should pray

Read the book of Matthew 6:9-13 and learn how Jesus taught his disciples to pray.


6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.


Jesus was emphasizing on Four important points when praying.

  1. Thank God in your prayers – Matthew 6:9 – 10
  2. Make your request, supplication or petition to God – Matthew 6:11
  3. Repent your sins – Matthew 6:12
  4. Ask for protection – Matthew 6:13
