England qualified for the Euro 2016 tournament in style after achieving a record of 10 wins in as many matches. Roy Hodgson’s team was the youngest and least experienced England squad for over 20 years. Also Phil Jagielka captained the side and became the first Everton player to captain England.

Goals by Chamberlain, Barkley and an own goal ensured a 3 nil victory against Lithuania in the last group game. Other teams in Group E were Switzerland, Slovenia, Estonia and San Marino.

Pundits argue that England was given an easy group and think that they will struggle against big qualified teams like Belgium,Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal ; if drawn in the same group.

Roy Hodgson will face an uphill task of selecting his final 23 man squad for the tournament in France.
