Today marks the annual World Aids Day celebrated worldwide on December 1. This day is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the HIV infection.
This years’ theme is “Share Responsibility strengthening Results for an AIDS Free Generation.” In 2012 an estimated 35.3 million people were living with AIDS globally. 2.3 million people were newly infected while 1.6 million died of AIDS related illnesses. Governments and Health sectors are working together to end the pandemic.
